I noticed something that looked “wrong” as I went through the garage, so I took a closer look. It turned out a little snake had found its way about as far as it could go into the garage. It wasn’t happy to be grabbed and put into a plastic container. But once we had the photos, it was put out where it would be in a lot better to hunt for prey than the garage.
Critters
Egret
One of our rarer visitors is this long legged, long necked egret. Probably like the road runner looking for lizards or other small prey for its lunch.
Road Runner
It seems to be an annual event — a road runner shows up and hangs around for a few days.
Fawns
This year’s fawns showing their baby spots graze on the hill behind our home and will come up within a few feet of the house. Unlike the birds who come to the feeder out there, the deer do not seem disturbed by us moving around on the other side of the window.
Jack Rabbit
Among the other regular visitors to our property are the jack rabbits. They don’t seem to have any interest in the garden. They seem to just run around, chase each other, do laps around the fence or just chill out for a while.
